Bulgarians and Ukrainian citizens, who found a second home in Bulgaria after the outbreak of the war, participated in rallies in different cities in Bulgaria.

Over 100 refugees from Ukraine gathered in front of the Sports Hall in Varna to call for peace. They also expressed their gratitude to Bulgaria for its hospitality and help with an artistic programme.

A demonstration was also held in front of the Burgas Municipality building. Most Ukrainian refugees are accommodated in hotels and state bases in Burgas region.

A memorial service for the killed Ukrainian civilians and servicemen was held at the St. Demetrius Church in Plovdiv on the initiative of the Honorary Consulate of Ukraine in the city. The service was attended by dozens of Ukrainians who live and work in Plovdiv. As a sign of support to the Ukrainian people, the building of the Stara Zagora Municipality will be lit in the colours of the Ukrainian flag this evening.

A total of 4,400 Ukrainian refugees have found a livelihood in the country through the labour offices, and another 2,000 have found work through direct contact with an employer. They are employed mainly in the hospitality sector. Surveys of Ukrainian refugees show that 40% of them do not intend to start work, but at the same time intend to stay in Bulgaria. "The fact that they are mostly in resorts and not in big cities does not allow their better integration," Deputy Social Minister Natalia Efremova told BNR.
