"We are fully aware of the obstacles on the way to Eurozone membership, which include inflation and pending adoption of laws." This is what President Rumen Radev said during the meeting with Executive Vice President of the European Commission for An Economy that Works for People, Valdis Dombrovskis, who is on a visit to Bulgaria. Radev expressed his expectation that the next Bulgarian parliament would adopt the necessary legislation.

President Radev pointed out the achievements of the caretaker cabinet in controling the factors generating inflation. He pointed out that Bulgaria was among the countries with the lowest natural gas prices, the lowest fuel prices in the EU and with stable deliveries. Dombrovskis pointed out that an information campaign was needed so that the Bulgarian people are aware of the benefits of Eurozone membership.

After his meeting with the European Commissioner, Prime Minister Galab Donev said that the measures taken by the governmen to control inflation in Bulgaria had worked. According to him, there has been a continuous decline in the inflation indices in the country since October.
