Kiril Despodov is Bulgaria's Footballer of the Year for 2022

Kiril Despodov was awarded the annual title Bulgarian Footballer of the Year. The striker of Ludogorets PFC has won the award for the second consecutive year. Ilia Gruev (Werden Bremen) ranked second and Ilaylo Chochev who plays for CSKA 1948 placed third in the annual football ranking.

“I am extremely happy to be in the top 3 list together with Ilia Gruev and Ivaylo Chochev. All the nominees are amazing talents. Together, we will pursue our big dream - to qualify for a major international football forum with the national football team", Kiril Despodov said at the ceremony. He also won the prize Best Striker of Bulgaria for 2022. The current head coach of Levski Sofia Stanimir Stoilov was voted the Best Bulgarian Coach for 2022.
