Boyko Borisov sees an attempt for restoring Russian influence in North Macedonia

The leader of GERB, Boyko Borisov, has called on the North Macedonian authorities to bring to justice the perpetrators of the beating of the secretary of the Bulgarian cultural club "Tsar Boris III" in Ohrid, Hristiyan Pendikov.

According to him, such cases undermine the efforts of Bulgaria to move the neighbouring country towards membership in the European Union.
"However, here I see an attempt to bring North Macedonia back under Russian influence, purposefully, and this is being done very actively," the former prime minister pointed out. According to him, the best thing for Bulgaria is for the Republic of North Macedonia and Albania, which the European Union treats as a package, to be in the EU and NATO.
