Ensuring fair elections will be a priority of the Interior Ministry, said Ivan Demerdzhiev, caretaker Minister of the Interior.

He said the work of the police will be hampered because of new amendments allowing voting by paper ballots. "This way, investigators will have to deal with a much higher volume of crimes," Demerdzhiev said.
He added that should his name appear in the presidential decree appointing the next caretaker cabinet, he would be most happy to continue performing his duties as responsibly as he does now.
