Political parties' reactions to Die Welt's article that Bulgaria secretly delivered arms to Ukraine

The report in "Die Welt" that Bulgaria secretly delivered arms to Ukraine under the government of Kiril Petkov has provoked mixed reactions from political parties. GERB and "Democratic Bulgaria", which in principle insist that Bulgaria provides military aid to Kiev, criticised the former government for withholding this information.
According to Hristo Ivanov (DB), the delivery of arms was to be done transparently and directly to Ukraine, without an intermediary.

"There has never been a direct export of arms from Bulgaria to Ukraine. Bulgaria has exported arms to a number of countries including the US, the UK, Poland, Romania. These weapons later reached Ukraine," said Assen Vassilev, co-founder of "We Continue the Change".

The other co-founder of the party Kiril Petkov expressed his satisfaction: "We are happy that the title highlights Bulgaria's key role and that we are on the right side of history".

"Bulgaria has never delivered weapons directly to Ukraine. Anyone who says otherwise is lying," BSP leader Kornelia Ninova said

Stefan Yanev, leader of "Bulgarian Rise" and former defence minister, said the article in "Die Welt" had nothing new to say: "If it is about business, it is normal for the Bulgarian arms industry to look for markets, even if there is a war and those markets are, let's say, faster-moving".
