There are risks of new Russian sabotage actions against the Bulgarian military industry, investigative journalist Hristo Grozev said in a video message to the round table in the parliament on the topic: "Influence of disinformation in the conditions of geopolitical crises".

According to the Bellingcat site, in April 2016, there was an attempt prepared by Russia's Main Intelligence Directorate (GRU) to destabilize Bulgaria with two paramilitary groups. The plan was based on a model previously implemented in Montenegro. The plan was for more than 700 protesters to try to seize power, but most of them were preemptively arrested, Grozev said. He added that in February 2022 various media worked for creating a pro-Russian or neutral position towards the war in Ukraine among Bulgarians.
