One of the leading Japanese TV stations, TBS, is shooting a film in Bulgaria about the history of the ancient Thracians and the sacred wine.

The team is working in the ancient Thracian site Perperikon in the Rhodope Mountain and the Valley of the Thracian Kings near Kazanlak.
The 50-minute film will be broadcast in the most watched section on world wonders and mysteries in front of the media's 20 million audience, announced the long-time leader of the Perperikon excavations, Prof. Nikolay Ovcharov.

A visitor centre is being rapidly built near the rock town to make it even more attractive to tourists.

At the end of 2022, Perperikon has become a top weekend destination as the thousands of tourists surprised the local guides.
