At a hearing in the Parliamentary Committee on Energy, Caretaker Minister of Energy Rosen Hristov announced that Bulgaria was negotiating with Romania for the supply of natural gas after 2026. He specified that he had already held talks with his counterpart from Romania.

Our northern neighbour is ready, if there is a surplus, to satisfy Bulgaria's needs as well, so now the question is about the price, he added, quoted by BTA. Bulgaria is also ready to hold similar talks with Turkey, Minister Hristov added.
He reiterated that there was no agreement with Turkey for the supply of blue fuel, but only for the passage through Turkish pipes of quantities agreed by Bulgaria.
On February 2, there will be also a meeting in Baku, where gas supplies from Azerbaijan will be discussed.
