In November 2022, the visits of foreign citizens to Bulgaria rose by 52.8 percent, compared to November 2021. According to NSI data, 37.4 percent of them were just passing through the country.
Out of the total number of foreign citizens who visited Bulgaria in November 2022, the share of citizens from the European Union was 45.9 percent, with the largest number of visits by citizens of Romania - 42.6 percent and Greece- 26 percent.
Citizens from "Other European countries" account for 44.4 percent of all visits to Bulgaria, with the largest share being those from Turkey - 47.7 percent. In November 2022, the largest number of foreign citizens who visited Bulgaria came from Turkey, Romania, Greece, Ukraine, Serbia, North Macedonia, Germany, Italy, Poland and Israel. The share of visits related to tourism was 27.9 percent.
