"LUKOIL Neftohim Burgas has transferred an advance tax to the state budget in the amount of 45 million euros," the interim Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Hristo Alexiev said.

Last month, he announced that the Russian company would transfer its entire economic activity from the Netherlands to Bulgariaria and would now pay taxes in this country. Alexiev commented that the sum of tax paid in advance was greater than all the money paid by the company to the treasury over the past 20 years.

"Since the caretaker government started work, fuel prices have dropped by 30-35 euro cents. We will do all that we can to ensure that the state receives its taxes from LUKOIL and fuel prices continue to fall," Alexiev added.
