Varna receives award for promotion of local cultural and historical heritage

The Municipality of Varna has received the annual award for 2022 of the Bulgarian Hotel and Restaurant Association for outstanding contribution to the preservation and promotion of the cultural and historical heritage of the city

Varna began its construction as a resort of national and international importance more than 100 years ago, as today tourism is one of the main sectors of its economy. 
The municipality offers a unique combination of natural resources - golden beaches, longoz forests, mineral springs, rich cultural and historical heritage and traditions, a rich cultural calendar. T

Тhe city is the guardian of the oldest processed gold in the world. The famous gold treasure from the Varna Necropolis became a scientific sensation, as it is the largest group of gold objects discovered so far in the world - from 297 graves on an area of about 7,500 square meters, more than 3,000 gold objects with a total weight of more than 6 kilograms
