Following another massive Russian missile attack on Ukrainian civilian targets on December 5, spokesman of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yuriy Ignat, warned that another wave of Russian missile strikes is expected on December 6. He called on citizens not to panic and to prepare for evacuation in the event of air-attack alert. He added that on December 5, Ukrainian forces managed to shoot down more than 60 out of a total of 70 Russian missiles launched, UNIAN reports.

The Moldovan border police found a missile near the Ukrainian border, the foreign ministry in Chisinau reported. The missile fell in an orchard near the town of Briceni, near the border with Ukraine.

The Russian strikes on December 5 followed a successful Ukrainian drone attack against the Engels military base near Saratov in Russia. The airport is located 750 kilometers away from the Ukrainian border and nuclear weapons are also reportedly stored there. Two Tu-95M strategic bombers have been damaged, Russian military bloggers write. A drone also hit a Russian military airport near Bryansk.

Early on December 6, another drone struck fuel depots and caused a large-scale fire near the Russian airfield in Kursk, it was reported.
