From November 11 to November 13, Bulgaria’s capital Sofia hosts the first meeting-seminar of leaders of folklore formations abroad. The event is organized by the Association of Bulgarian Folk Ensembles Abroad with the support of the State Agency for Bulgarians Abroad.

Bulgaria’s Vice President Iliana Iotova and Rayna Mandzhukova, head of the State Agency for Bulgarians Abroad, attended the official opening. The seminar also includes a meeting with folk singer Yanka Rupkina.

In her address, the Vice President reiterated the need to regulate the status of the Association of Bulgarian Folklore Ensembles abroad, which would facilitate its contacts with Bulgarian institutions and allow its activities to be supported by the Bulgarian state.
