European Commission forecasts 12.8% inflation in Bulgaria in 2022

Inflation in Bulgaria will reach 12.8% in 2022, the European Commission’s autumn economic forecast shows. Inflation is forecasted to be 0.3% higher as compared to the Commission’s summer forecast. In 2021, Bulgaria’s inflation was 2.8%. 

The country’s GDP growth is set to decelerate from 3.1% in 2022 to 1.1% in 2023 due to lower domestic and foreign demand. Investments will decrease with 8% in 2022. The unemployment rate at the end of the year is expected to stand at 5.2%.
