Protest of disabled people starts in front of Council of Ministers in central Sofia

Photo: BNR

People with disabilities are protesting in front of the building of Bulgaria's Council of Ministers in central Sofia because of the lack of life-sustaining drugs in pharmacies and the long periods in which they remain without a disability pension

They insist on changing the regulation defining the medical examinations in the terrotorial expert doctors' commissions because the issuance of the documents is delayed for months and during this time the disabled people do not receive the funds from their social pensions.
The protesters are also dissatisfied with the lack of concomitant therapy, including insulin in pharmacies.
The protest demonstration will continue until 12:00 and more disabled people are expected to join.
