Some 500 Ukrainian refugees staying in hotels in Kranevo on the Black Sea and about 100 refugees in the mountain resort of Bansko held peaceful demonstrations. Ukrainians in Varna, Primorsko and Sunny Beach also joined the protest.
The demonstrators are mostly mothers with children, young people and the elderly who do not want to be displaced and moved to state structures in the interior of the country. Natalia Sharandachenko spoke to a BNR reporter in Bansko and said that the refugees want their accommodation in hotels to be additionally funded and to stay where they are so that they can integrate properly. According to Natalia Sharandachenko, most of her compatriots are attending Bulgarian language courses, they have found jobs in Bansko, their children are going to school, and a possible relocation would not improve their lives as living conditions in state structures are not very good.
