The parties GERB and We Continue the Change will form an expert group for drawing up the state budget for 2023. Agreement on this was reached by the representatives of the two biggest parliamentary groups during their first meeting.

GERB announced they were going to invite the other parliamentary groups, as well as representatives of the caretaker government.

During the meeting, We Continue the Change co-chair Assen Vassilev presented estimates that We Continue the Change’spriorities can be integrated into the budget for 2023, with a deficit below 3%. Former Finance Minister Kiril Ananiev from GERB party contested these estimates, saying that the forecasts We Continue the Change have been working with are outdated and the expected growth rate for 2023 is by far more pessimistic.
