BSP and "Vazrazhdane" say Bulgaria is not ready for the Eurozone

The BSP and "Vazrazhdane" parties said that Bulgaria was not ready to enter the Eurozone on January 1, 2024. The two political forces referred to an analysis by the BNB.

"We do not change our opinion that entry into the Eurozone is indeed the completion of the integration processes, but this should happen when we are sure that it is the right time for Bulgaria's accession", Rumen Gechev of BSP said. According to him, the risks to the competitiveness of the Bulgarian economy are currently very high.

"Vazrazhdane" compared the admission of Bulgaria to the Eurozone with entering a trap and said that they have not given up on the idea of organizing a referendum on the topic.
