The books featured include George Orwell’s 1984, Herta Müller’s Everything I Own I Carry with Me, Georgi Markov’s In Absentia Reports, Anna Politkovskaya’s Putin's Russia, Milan Kundera’s The Book of Laughter and Forgetting, Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn’s The Gulag Archipelago, Joseph Roth’s Travels to Ukraine and Russia, Mikhail Bulgakov’s The Master and Margarita etc.
