Bulgaria’s attempt to take a debt of 102 million euros has failed

On October 24, the Bulgarian state tried to take a new debt but failed because of unfavorable terms. Securities for over 102 million euros were issued. The investors requested a very high yield and the issue was canceled, Minister of Finance Rositsa Velkova said in parliament.

She added that if the forecasts of a deficit of 6.6% next year came true, this would move the country away from being accepted into the Eurozone. According to her, this complicates the assumption of debt and the provision of liquidity in the state.
