In Bulgaria, there is no tangible professional and public support for young musicians to start a professional career in Bulgaria. "These are weaknesses of the cultural reconstruction and that is why we have a huge drain of classical performers abroad," one of the most respected Bulgarian conductors, Prof. Plamen Djurov, told BTA. According to him, about 75% of Bulgarian musicians seek opportunities for professional development in Europe.

Djurov emphasized that the big question was also in the education of the people, in the construction of cultural needs. "The world has become very complicated. You have a phone, it has all the music, the question is what you choose. That's why the refinement of one's musical taste is so important. There is a sound barrier - many people listen but very few hear," he said.

Prof. Djurov is the chairman of the jury of the 7th International Competition for Young Pianists "Dimitar Nenov", which will last until October 27 in Razgrad. He defined the Razgrad competition as "a small oasis of music in our everyday life".

According to him, the competition plays an important role in the career of young musicians.
