“Despite the complicated situation in Ukraine, at this point, Bulgaria’s Foreign Ministry does not plan to evacuate the 6 Bulgarian diplomats in Kyiv,” said Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs in the caretaker government Kostadin Kodzhabashev.  He stated further that the situation is being monitored closely, and that if there is a further escalation and if the evacuation of the staff is impossible, they will have conditions for normal accommodation inside the diplomatic representation building for the space of 5-7 days.

Bulgaria condemns Russia’s continuing military escalation in Ukraine, including the massive air strikes during the past two weeks against Ukrainian cities, and most of all Kyiv, Deputy Minister Kodzhabashev said.
