1,200 pink balloons in memory of women who have lost their battle with breast cancer

1,200 pink balloons floated into the sky over Sofia today in memory of women who have lost their battle with breast cancer. The initiative is of the First Obstetric and Gynaecological Hospital "St. Sofia" in cooperation with Sofia Municipality. The disease is affecting now younger women. The event also aims to encourage women to get screened annually. According to statistics, 30% of all cancers are of the breast in women.
