President Rumen Radev today signed a decree (on the basis of Article 75 of the Constitution) convening the first session of the newly elected 48th National Assembly. The date is scheduled for 19 October 2022 at 9.00.

On the same day the Bulgarian Orthodox Church honors the heavenly protector and patron of Bulgarian people - St. Ivan of Rila - the Miracle Worker.

Traditionally, the plenary session will be opened by the oldest member of parliament. This time it is sculptor Vezhdi Rashidov from GERB-UFD.

The deputies will take an oath in the name of the Republic of Bulgaria to observe the Constitution and the laws of the country and to be guided in all their actions by the interests of the Bulgarian people.

At the first plenary session, the President and Vice-Presidents of the National Assembly will be elected.
