According to Dr. Tsveteslava Galabova, Director of the St. Ivan of Rila psychiatric hospital, psychiatric hospitals in Bulgaria have been turned into care homes. To address this problem a strategy was approved a year ago for taking patients out of psychiatric hospitals and providing them with psychological and social care.
