15 km run Ruse-Giurgiu to bring Bulgaria and Romania closer

On September 25, the International Road Run "Free Spirit Run Giurgiu - Ruse" starts on the 15-kilometer route crossing the border between Bulgaria and Romania. Starting in the centre of Giurgiu, Romania and finishing in Ruse, Bulgaria, the fastest participant is expected to make the distance to Ruse in 45 minutes.

"By organizing the run, we prove our natural connection and friendship with the Romanian people," said Ruse Deputy Mayor Encho Enchev. Top runners and many amateurs are participating from Bulgaria. The ratio between Bulgarians and Romanians is 50/50". The prize fund is 6,000 euro and special prizes have been prepared for veterans over 40 and 50 years of age.

The capacity of the race is 300 participants, with runners from Bulgaria, Romania, Israel, Turkey, South Africa, Italy and the United Kingdom signed up so far. The oldest runner is a 75-year-old Bulgarian who has participated in all editions of the run so far.
