The defence and cybersecurity challenges facing the countries of the South-East Europe region in the context of the war in Ukraine are being discussed at a conference in Sofia, BTA reports. The forum is organized by the Israeli platform Improvate, giving access to leading technologies and innovations for new markets around the world.

The meeting is hosted by Rosen Plevneliev, President of Bulgaria (2012-2017), who is on the platform's advisory board. Former world chess champion and artificial intelligence expert Garry Kasparov also joined the forum.

Kasparov told the forum that at the beginning of the hostilities in Ukraine, Russia conducted a massive attack on all fronts - a military offensive and a large-scale cyberattack, and that now the war in Ukraine is being fought both online and offline, demonstrating the advantages of the free world.
