The Central Election Commission showed the content of the voting machines and the safeguards that protect the security of vote. "The demonstration had to take place because of the multitude of information, mainly on the social networks, that it is possible to disassemble the machines and somehow enter data that is not part of the approved software", the Central Election Commission’s Spokesperson Rositsa Mateva said.
In her words, nearly 11,000 voting machines have been secured for the October 2 snap election. No replacement of parts will be allowed on election day.
A total of 5,333 candidates, including 1,576 female candidates, are to participate at the early Parliamentary elections, the Central Election Commission said.
