The number of foreign human traffickers in Bulgaria has increased significantly, according to the statistics.

The majority of them are from Ukraine, Georgia, Moldova, Serbia, France, Macedonia and the Arab countries. This is what Maria Markova from the prosecutor's office in Burgas told BNR Burgas.

A major difficulty for pre-trial proceedings comes from the lack of sufficient interpreters in specific languages. "Sometimes we have to use languages that the perpetrators claim to know in order to use the appropriate interpreter," the prosecutor said.
