Because of a wildfire that has spread to more than 500 hectares of dry grass, shrubery and woodland between the villages of Oryahovo and Vaskovo near Haskovo, a partial state of emertgency has been put in place in the municipalities of Lyubimets and Harmanli.
Throughout the night, 14 fire engines and more than 80 people fought to put out the blaze. Haskovo Regional governor Minko Angelov said for the BNR that the fire has been localized. At his insistence, two bulldozers are also engaged in the efforts to extinguish the fire – from Plovdiv and from Maritsa Iztok Mines, after the fire spread towards the villages Izvorovo and Dripchevo in the region of Hramanli. According to Minko Angelov, the fire has spread to a coniferous forest outside any populated areas, and there is no danger to people.
Help is expected today from 20 army personnel and firefighters from areas neighbouring on Haskovo region.
