The heads of the Bulgarian National Revenue Agency (NRA) and Customs Agency Rumen Spetsov and Pavel Tonev have been dismissed. Boris Mihaylov and Pavel Gerensky have been appointed to replace them.

According to the Government Press Service, NRA Executive Director Rumen Spetsov has been fired for non-performance of obligations under the National Revenue Agency Act. There have been mixed data on the estimated tax revenues for 2022 since the beginning of the year, according to official information, submitted periodically by NRA Head Spetsov.

The announcement also states that NRA did not include in its forecasts appropriations of a specific state-owned company to the budget whose arrears to NRA are in particularly large amounts.
