Bulgaria's Bulgargaz: The door to negotiations with Gazprom is not closed

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bulgaria's gas company Bulgargaz Ivan Topchiyski described the 60% higher gas price requested by Bulgargaz as shocking in the Nova TV studio. According to him, a lower price of the negotiated liquefied gas can be discussed only with long-term contracts. The head of Bulgargaz also emphasized that the door to negotiations with Gazprom is not finally closed.

Despite the suspension of deliveries from the Russian company, negotiations are still ongoing, Topchiyski said. 

"We don't know how the correspondence will develop, but there is a possibility of a resumption of supplies. It is about the contract we have until the end of the year. Hypothetically, it is possible that they will change their terms. We do not close the page as long as there are guarantees that there will be no risks for Bulgargaz if the conditions change," said Topchiyski. 

According to him, about 60% of the gas needed by Bulgaria for the winter months has been agreed, together with the agreed 7 tankers from the USA.
