Bulgarian-Romanian Traffic Police teams launch joint inspections

Teams of the Bulgarian and the Romanian Traffic Police have launched joint inspections as of August 1. Inspections take place mainly in border areas selected on the basis of estimates for intense traffic of Bulgarian and Romanian vehicles. 

The joint checks aim to increase road safety. The Traffic Police teams will be working to catch violations like wrong overtaking, use of alcohol and drugs. They will also monitor the use of seatbelts, the validity of driver documents, technical condition of vehicles, etc. Police cars are equipped with video and audio recording devices.
