Bulgarian students win medals at the International Linguistics Olympiad 2022

Bulgarian students won 2 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals at the International Linguistics Olympiad 2022 held in the Isle of Man. 

Alexander Dimitrov from the High School of Mathematics in Varna and Konstantin Georgiev from High School of Mathematics Ruse won gold medals. The silver medal went to Gergana Petrova from the High School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics in Burgas. Alexandra Naydenova from the High School for Teaching Foreign Languages Pernik and Teodor Malchev from Sofia High School of Mathematics earned bronze medals. 

The linguists solved puzzles in rare languages from the Caucasus, North America and South Asia, making parallels in the development and change of words in 3 languages.
