From today, 30 July, until the end of August, the parks of Sofia are again joining the "Green Libraries" campaign. Famous Bulgarian poets, writers, musicians and artists are taking part in the eighth edition of the initiative organised by the Sofia Library.
The programme this year also includes thematic exhibitions and live music performances. Every Saturday and Sunday, at various outdoor venues in Sofia, readers will be able to drop off a book they have read and pick up a new one.
Today, the initiative is taking place in Geo Milev Park, where two bookshelters will be set up. The Library Bus will also be on site, with 1,500 volumes of new titles by contemporary and classic Bulgarian and international authors. All interested will be able to get a free reader's card. Next weekend, the Vladimir Zaimov Park and Borisov Garden will host the event.
