Road maintenance companies are protesting for the second consecutive day because of overdue payments for already completed works. They are also demanding indexation of construction contracts to compensate for inflation. Protesters temporarily blocked 20 major roads across the country on Thursday morning.

Road builders gathered again near the National Assembly in Sofia. MP Toshko Yordanov, Chairman of the parliamentary group of "There is Such a People" party told protesters that they should seek a solution to their problems in the Ministry of Finance, not in the National Assembly.

Road builders are expected to continue their protests on Friday.
