Bulgaria’s coastal city of Burgas is to host a secret concert today, organized by the world format Sofar Sounds. The interesting thing is that the musical events take place in different unusual locations, with the guests choosing the exact address and the names of the performers at the last minute. The concerts invarianly feature three solo artists or groups with their own music.
“Our aim is to present new Bulgarian music and to help it reach out to a broader audience. There are more than 100 Bulgarian videos on our YouTube channel already,” says Violeta Lazarova from Sofar. Two more secret concerts are to take place in Burgas – on 21 august and on 16 October this year. The format exists in more than 350 cities around the world and made its debut in this country in 2017.
