CEM fail to elect new members to the BNR Board of Directors

Galina Georgieva

With three votes in favour and two abstentions, the Council for Electronic Media (CEM) failed to approve the proposed candidates for members of the BNR Board of Directors. The mandates of four members of the governing body expire on 28 July this year, but their replacements must be elected by a qualified majority of at least 4 votes.

"Once again, the members of CEM have humiliated the candidates, as was the case during the election of the Director General of Public service television BNT, " commented CEM member Galina Georgieva.

According to her, in its current configuration the CEM is not able to unite around any decision.
