This year, the town of Bankya in the outskirts of Sofia, will celebrate its Holidays of mineral water, health and longevity "Goreshlyatsi 2022" with a rich cultural program.
The Goreshlyatsi holidays traditionally take place on July 15, 16, and 17, but the program in the emblematic Rotonda park has already started in advance with an open air cinema and a concert of the Children's Radio Choir of the BNR.
The key event of the holidays is the Solemn Holy Liturgy and the water blessing for health in the local church of Saints Kirik and Yulita. By tradition it will be held on July 15, starting at 9 am.
On Saturday, residents and visitors of Bankya will witness the XIII Auto-Retro Parade with a route starting from the neighboring village of Ivanyane, to the the Kestenite Park in Bankya.
Special focus of the Goreshlyatsi is placed on arts and crafts, and the central street is turned into an "Alley of Crafts", organized with the participation of the Regional Chamber of Crafts - Sofia.
On the 16th and 17th, the Alley of Craftsmen will be held at the same place.
