Russia suspends the aircraft repair certificates of two Bulgarian military plants

Russia is terminating the validity of the certificates issued by it to three aircraft repair enterprises - two in Bulgaria and one in the Czech Republic, the spokeswoman of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova announced at a briefing, quoted by TASS.

These are the Bulgarian "Terem-Letets" and "Avionams", and the Czech enterprise "Lom Praha". The provision of design and technical assistance for repairs, maintenance of maintenance kits and documentation, as well as the supply of spare parts for MI helicopters is suspended. The companies will be deprived of the right to carry out maintenance and repair of Russian-made helicopters.

According to Zakharova, this action is in response to the military aid that the EU and NATO countries provide to the regime in Kyiv, and to the planned repairs of Ukrainian military equipment in some of the countries of Eastern Europe.

"Terem - Letets" specializes in the repair of helicopters - Mi-17, Mi-8, Mi-14PL/BT, Mi-24B/D/P, Mi-2 and Ka-26 and others. "Avionams" carries out repairs and modernization of Mi-8 and Mi-17 helicopters for military and civil purposes, Mi-24 helicopters, as well as a number of aircraft of the MiG, Su and L39 types.

"The Ministry of Defense still has no official confirmation that Russia is withdrawing Bulgaria's license to repair the Russian-made helicopters that are in service with our army, but if this is a fact, the step is expected," said retired Defense Minister Dragomir Zakov .
