Bulgaria’s Ministry of Finance has blocked the money of the Russian Embassy in Sofia, announced MP Toshko Yordanov, Chairman of the Parliamentary group of "We Continue the Change" party.

In his words, Bulgarian companies operating on the Russian market will also suffer losses.

"Let me tell you something. The Russian side may also block money of Bulgarian diplomats in Russia. We have not broken diplomatic relations yet", said MP Yordanov.

There are no frozen accounts of the Russian Embassy in Sofia, Bulgaria's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance in resignation Assen Vassilev told journalists in the Council of Ministers.
"There is a transfer to the Russian embassy, which falls directly under the sanctions of the European Commission. The Russian Embassy has requested a derogation, that is, it has demanded that Bulgaria should cancel the sanctions for this translation. The derogation is currently being consulted with the European Commission. When we receive an opinion from the Commission, we will take the appropriate actions," Vassilev explained.
