More and more Turkish tourists want to come to Bulgaria, Turkish tour operators said, after visiting Varna, Bulgarian public service TV BNT reports. A tour was organized for them with visits to year-round resorts and to historical landmarks along the Bulgarian Black Sea coastline. For many years tourists from Turkey have mostly been coming to Bulgaria’s winter resorts, though interest in the Black Sea resorts has been growing, especially among second generation immigrants from Bulgaria.

The biggest problem, people from the industry say, are the visas for visitors from Turkey. They are issued in Bursa, and at the consulates in Edirne, Istanbul and Ankara, but the procedure takes more than two weeks. Whereas for Greece, Turkish tourists can obtain visas on board the ferryboats they arrive in.
