The International Monetary Fund - IMF expects average inflation in Bulgaria in 2022 to reach 12.2%. This is what the opinion of the Executive Board of the fund is. It is based on data of the institution's mission to Sofia.

Representatives of the fund visited Bulgaria in early April, but the approved opinion is based on developments until mid-June. The projected annual growth of GDP is 2.8 percent.

The fund's opinion states that the reduced VAT for some goods and services should be abolished but due to the high energy prices there should be some kind of financial support for households and businesses.
