The Minister of Agriculture, Food and Forestry Ivan Ivanov paid a visit to the region of Dobrich for the celebrations dedicated to the harvest in the region, often called "the breadbasket of Bulgaria".
His visit today, 18 June, started in the village of Lovchantsi for the fourth regional folklore review "Dobrudja - my love". During a meeting with mayors, mayor deputies and farmers from the region, Minister Ivanov discussed the state of the livestock sector, the shelterbelts and the distribution of funding to the sectors within the frameworks of coupled support. The farmers demanded that Minister Ivanov take steps to render financial assistance based on marketed production and the increased production costs documents.
In the evening, Minister Ivanov will open the festival "White Harvest - for the land, the Dobrudja people and the bread" in the municipality of Tervel.
