There is Such a People party pulls its ministers out of the government and breaks the coalition. This was announced by the leader of the party, cable television presenter, Slavi Trifonov.
Earlier today, three ministers from the party - Deputy PM and Regional Development Minister Grozdan Karadjov, Foreign Minister Teodora Genchovska and Youth and Sports Minister Radostin Vassilev - left the meeting of the Council of Ministers "because of the extremely bad budget presented by Finance Minister Assen Vassilev," Trifonov said. This, he said, shows that neither the prime minister nor the finance minister are coping, nor the coalition is working properly - in fact it is even agonizing.
The reasons for the dysfunctional coalition are two - the policy towards North Macedonia and the lack of money in the country, Trifonov said. That is why "There is such a nation" no longer belongs to this government. Trifonov said that the prime minister's policy towards North Macedonia is different from the policy of the foreign ministry, the parliament and the one announced at the presidential Consultative Council.
According to Trifonov, the prime minister has promised to EU and world leaders that he will lift the veto on the start of the accession negotiations with North Macedonia. He said Petkov was doing his utmost to make this happen, even though most Bulgarians want North Macedonia to start negotiations only when it complies with the 2017 Good Neighbour Agreement between the two countries. So the PM is blatantly and brazenly violating the signed coalition agreement, Trifonov said.
Regarding the budget and the state's finances, Trifonov pointed out that since Assen Vassilev was appointed finance minister, "billions have been flying up and down". "No one has the right to experiment with public money - to spend it single-handedly, even if he was not a Harvard graduate but a graduate of the Galactic Institute," Trifonov added.
He stated that ITN MPs would support the budget update on the income side.
