For the time being there will be no update of the minimum wage in Bulgaria as of July 1, Labour and Social Policy Minister Georgi Gokov told journalists before the meeting of the National Council for Tripartite Cooperation, where the government's proposed anti-crisis measures are being discussed.
Currently, the minimum wage is 363 euros. It was last updated in April this year by just over 9%.

Regarding pensions, Gjokov explained that the government had tried to give Bulgarian pensioners the fairest possible increase within the budget.
He said that from 1 October a new "pension update with amendments" was due, which would bring pensions granted further back in time closer to those granted more recently.  "This discrepancy in pensions is a long-standing problem for the Bulgarian pension system," Gokov was quoted as saying by BTA.
