Bulgaria reports 293 new cases of Covid-19, one third of them - in Sofia

293 new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Bulgaria in the last 24 hours. 4.46% of the 6,573 tests performed came back positive, data of the National Coronavirus Information Portal shows. 62.46% of the new cases are among unvaccinated citizens.

The new cases are most numerous in Sofia - 102, followed by the districts of Plovdiv - with 26 and Stara Zagora - with 17 newly infected.

There are currently 483 people in hospital as 41 of them are in intensive care units.

1,716 people have been reported cured in the past 24 hours. 

13 people have lost the battle with the virus.
