"It is never a mistake to give up working with a supplier who unilaterally changes conditions and uses gas for political purposes", Bulgaria’s Deputy Premier and Minister of Finance Assen Vassilev said for Nova TV.

Minister Vassilev noted that a return to Gazprom for Bulgaria is unlikely. “The contract expires at the end of the year with a supplier that uses gas for purely political purposes and decides to change conditions unilaterally." The gas imported from Azerbaijan is about three times cheaper than the Russian gas. The price of liquefied natural gas agreed with the USA for June and July is also lower than Gazprom's, Deputy Premier Vassilev added.
