"Bulgaria’s position is such as it is – implementation of the friendship agreement. There need to be specifics. We have wasted 5 months in talking, in interviews. We are just waiting for them to implement the agreement,” Bulgaria’s Foreign Minister Teodora Genchovska said. She stated further, as quoted by the Bulgarian news agency BTA, that she is ready to reaffirm this position to European Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Olivér Várhelyi, who is scheduled to pay a visit to this country.

Earlier in the day, the Foreign Minister of North Macedonia Bujar Osmani stated in an interview, that with regard to the launch of North Macedonia’s EU accession negotiations, the ball is in Bulgaria’s court.
